As organizational consultants, we are specialists in using both on-line and more traditional "paper and pencil" assessment and feedback instruments. Since 1978, diagnostic instruments have been essential elements of our consulting practice for two reasons.
- First, they provide an effective starting point in helping people accurately express their opinions and perceptions about complex, and often times "soft", organizational, team and people-related problems.
- Second, diagnostic tools provide a disciplined means for clearly feeding-back the key issues to stakeholders and gaining their commitment for change.
This is why we will often recommend the use of structured diagnostic tools to supplement one-on-one interviews and focus groups when we need to gather information about organizational, team and personal issues.
We use a six-step approach in developing and implementing a diagnostic survey. This process enables us to closely collaborate with key stakeholders during each step of the survey process: from initial planning, to administration, to feedback and finally to action planning.
