The following are the six steps to managing a typical client engagement.

Step #1: Pre-engagement Meeting(s)

Prior to taking action, MMi consultants will meet with you and other key stakeholders to ask questions and listen carefully to the current issues, problems and expectations from your perspective. We will then submit an initial response in order to "play-back" what we have heard. This ensures that there will be no misunderstandings about the project and its parameters. We then prepare a detailed "Statement of Work" that carefully outlines the project stages, anticipated consultant days, fees, deliverables and critical benchmarks.

This initial stage ensures that all parties are clear about the project and the expected outcomes. Only then will "approval to proceed" be given. Our consulting philosophy is: "there will be no surprises for our clients during the assignment."

Step #2: Data Gathering

Because the root cause(s) of an organizational or team problem may not be evident at the time the engagement is initiated, we begin the assignment by performing our own independent and confidential diagnosis. After receiving your approval to proceed, we use an appropriate combination of interviews, observations, and diagnostic surveys.

Step #3: Data Feedback and Recommendations

Once all the data have been collected and analyzed, our consultants will "feed-back" and review the key issues with you and other key stakeholders. During the feedback process, all individual sources of the data are kept confidential. Based on agreement, a corrective strategy is either recommended by us or will be collaboratively developed with you and your team.

Step #4: Implementation

A consulting or workshop solution will not succeed without effective implementation and client collaboration. Therefore, we will always carefully determine with you the degree to which we work together to accomplish the deliverables. This means that with some clients we will work independently and with others, there will be a high degree of collaboration.

Step #5: Progress Reviews

MMi consultants will meet periodically with you and/or key stakeholders during the assignment to review progress and to ensure that the implementation strategy is on track. Throughout the assignment, we always review and ensure your approval of "next steps" so that all parties are updated and the project remains on track.

Step #6: Project Completion and Final Review

Upon completion of the assignment, MMi consultants will formally meet with you and key stakeholders to critically review the consulting assignment and collaboratively identify follow-on actions.
